Sun Dec 03, 2006 10:11 pm   Champion Valuev to tackle McCline,

WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev will travel to Switzerland on 20 January to defend his title against American Jameel McCline.
The unbeaten Russian, 33, will be a strong favourite against McCline, who has lost six of his 47 fights.

At 7ft and 147kg, Valuev is the tallest and heaviest champion of all time.

He is undefeated in 45 fights and won the WBA title with a controversial points win over American John Ruiz in December 2005.

Victory over McCline would take the giant Russian a step closer to matching the late Rocky Marciano's 49-0 undefeated career mark.

It'll be a shame if he breaks Marciano's record, Rocky had some real tear ups and fought decent fighters.

I still haven't got to see this guy in action yet but from what I've heard he is slow and lumbering and only wins because of his size. Is this true?

In the middle ages he'd have been the main show in a circus such is his size. He's a lumbering oaf who even I could run rings round. I get the feeling though that if he connected with one sweet I'd be leaving with a sheet over my face.
