Previously I'd set my lads xbox360 machine up and it was working fine, the only problem being that to play on the xbox he had to unplug his freeview box scart lead and insert the scart head with the 3 wires from the xbox in its place. Not a huge problem but you know how clumsy teenagers are!
So, the other day I bought one of those 2 into 1 scart adapters thinking that he wouldn't have to mess quite so much. However, the xbox and the freeview don't like each other and only one of them can be switched on at a time although both machines can be plugged into the telly/dvd player.
The upshot of all this is that although he can get terrestrial TV, freeview and xbox pictures with very high clarity the sound has gone really low on all but the xbox. There is also an image available on the RGB channel when scrolling through which I'm sure wasn't there last week.
So, in a nutshell, how do I rectify the muted sound?

Clear as mud that, innit?!?!
